What is JAJAH Conference Calling?
JAJAH Conference Calling is a new powerful feature that allows you to schedule and initiate cheap conference calls with your friends and co-workers in an easy-to-use online set up.
How do I initiate a conference call?
In order to start a conference call, log in to your account and select your phone number from which you wish to call. At the destination drop-down menu select the destination country and enter the destination phone number. Click the “Add Participant” link to enter an additional destination number and repeat as many times as necessary. To start the call, click the green CALL button. Your phone will ring. After you pick up the phone and you will hear an automated voice giving you the option to accept the conference call by pressing “1” or reject it by pressing “0”. Once the initiation process is completed, all the recipients will get a call. When they pick up their phone they will hear the conference call subject. They can then choose whether to accept or decline the call. If a participant’s phone is busy or there is no answer, JAJAH will retry to call a few times.
Can people join the conference call after initiation, i.e. at a later stage?
Unfortunately this is not possible at the moment.
How much does the call cost?
This depends on the number of people participating in the conference call. After you enter all the participants, hover your mouse over the CALL button and you will see the exact rate per minute for this call.
Who pays for the call? Can the payment be split into more than one account?
Only the person who initiated the call pays for the call.
When does a conference call end?
The conference call ends when the initiating participant hangs up.
Are conference calls free like other calls in JAJAH?
No. Conference calls are a paid service.
Can I schedule a conference call for a later time?
Yes, indeed. After setting the conference call as described above, click the “Schedule This Call” link (located just below the “Add Participant” link). You can then select the time for the conference call. You can also add an SMS/text message reminder. If you select this option, an SMS/text message will be sent to you with information to when the call was set 5 minutes before the call is scheduled to start. These messages will be sent to all the participants of the call, and your account will be charged for them.
Can I edit a scheduled conference call?
Yes. In the main JAJAH window, click the “My Scheduler” tab, and click the “edit” link next to the scheduled conference.
Is there an extra cost for a scheduled conference call?
No.
