Do I need to install anything on my computer in order to use JAJAH?

No installation, software or headset is necessary for JAJAH's products. JAJAH.Web works from any Internet browser and uses regular phones. JAJAH.Direct works directly from any phone (landline or mobile). No internet connection needed. JAJAH.Mobile Web works from any browser on your web enabled mobile. JAJAH.Buttons works from any browser and uses regular phones.

What is the difference between JAJAH and other VoIP services?

JAJAH combines the best of the Internet with the best of the existing telephony infrastructure, for high-quality, affordable global calling. The calls made through JAJAH are phone-to-phone, which means you:

Do I need to register before I can start to use JAJAH?

Do I need a headset on my computer to use JAJAH?

No. A call made on the JAJAH network is exactly like a regular call – you talk on your regular telephone (i.e. regular or mobile) and not a headset connected to a computer.

How do I make a call?

There are several ways to make a JAJAH call:
Use JAJAH Direct : JAJAH Direct allows you to make ultra-low cost global phone-to-phone calls without a computer or internet capable mobile phone. JAJAH Direct is very easy to use. Simply dial your local JAJAH access number, enter the number you wish to call, and JAJAH Direct connects you! After the call completes, users receive an SMS (text) message with a unique local phone number for the person they just called. JAJAH Direct users can save this number in their address book and call their contact directly from their phone, anytime. Text messaging charges imposed by carriers may apply.
Use JAJAH Web : It’s is very simple. Go to the JAJAH web site at http://www.jajah.com/. You will see "my phone number" and "my friend's phone number." In "my phone number," you can see that your country is already selected for you. All you have to do here is enter your area code and phone number (for example: 415 222 3333). You then choose the country to which you want to call and then enter the desired destination area code and phone number. Now click the CALL button. Your phone will now ring. How much does it cost?

You can make one free five minute trial call to any landline or mobile destination before you sign up for JAJAH (in Europe the trial call must be made on a landline). JAJAH doesn't accept my phone number or my destination number. Why?

There could be a few reasons for this:
1. If you’re trying to make a trial call, note that if you're in Europe, you must call from a landline phone to a landline phone.
2. If you have registered for a JAJAH account already, check that you have funds in your account.
3. If you are calling from JAJAH direct ensure you are calling the correct access number.

Can different people use the same phone number for the trial?

You can make one free five minute JAJAH trial call per phone number, even if there is more than one JAJAH user who uses the same telephone number.

What are the system requirements?

JAJAH's requirements are very basic - any type of computer (PC / Mac / Linux etc.) with any type of Internet connection (56k, ISDN, DSL, ADSL, Cables etc.) and one of the popular web browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla etc.). You will also need an available phone line (landline or mobile) to receive the call.

Is JAJAH some sort of spyware?

Absolutely not! First of all, JAJAH cannot be spyware since it does not install any kind of software on your machine. There were some malicious accusations when JAJAH was first introduced that alleged it, but they were all unfounded. You can read more about this topic here

What is the deal with the free 5 minutes?

JAJAH allows every potential customer to test its service for five minutes on any phone absolutely free. (In Europe the trial call must be made on a landline.) To use this trial version, you don't need to register, just go to the JAJAH website, enter your number in the top field and choose your destination country and number and press the CALL button. You can also try JAJAH.Direct for free for the first time. Simply dal the local access number in your region, dial the number you want to call and you are connected! After you the trial call, you can register with JAJAH, put money in your account, enjoy our products and save on international and long distance calls.

Are the free 5 minutes only in the trial period or for every call?

The free five minutes are for trial calls only to help you assess the service and not for users who are already registered, and not for every call you make.

How to use an extension in Jajah?

If you have a telephone number with an extension you wish to use, here is what you can do:
Using Jajah Web, enter the number you wish to use (as source or destination) and add X + ext number;
For example, if you want to enter a number with an ext 222, add X222 at the end of the number.
When using the Jajah Mobile Plug-In, use "P" instead of "X". Back
